Move As One is a poster series exploring football as a visual metaphor for global peace, unity, and shared human rhythm. Built around the core theme of rhythm, the project captures the invisible energy, flow, and harmony inherent in the game. It illustrates how physical movement and collective cooperation can transcend language barriers to bring people together. The bold typography and strong visual contrast emphasize the singular momentum created when individuals align toward a shared goal.
Shooting the Concept
To bring the idea of visual rhythm to life, I turned my bathroom into a makeshift darkroom. I set my camera up on a tripod, shut off all the lights, and used slow shutter speeds to paint with light. By waving handheld LEDs around in the dark, I was able to record these fluid, glowing streaks that simulate passing lines and the energetic flow of a match. I photographed the soccer ball separately in the same space so I could control the lighting on it directly, making sure to capture all the sharp texture and detail without blowing out the highlights.
The Digital Process
Once I had the raw shots, I brought everything into Photoshop to build the final composites. Working layer by layer, I isolated the soccer ball and carefully blended it with the light painting exposures, using adjustment layers and blending modes to make the light trails feel like they were wrapping naturally around the ball in three-dimensional space. Adding the bold typography came last, tying the abstract light trails and tactile realism together into a balanced layout. Below is a look at the final poster flats.
